Cudmore Park

Our client wanted to transform his sloped garden into a space the whole family could enjoy.

Creating the Space

We used a digger to excavate and shape the garden to the rear of the house. It was also used to dig the foundations for a retaining wall.

Building the Retaining Wall

The block wall was built to retain the soil on the higher level.

Paved Steps

Using a retaining wall on either side, the steps were built using brick risers and paving.

A Raised Seating Area

While erecting the retaining walls it was decided to create a small raised patio area.  This raised eating area would create a focal point within the garden.

Starting the Decking

The retaining and raised seating area walls were rendered. We then began to deck the remaining area.  This image shows the deck base and the start of the decking, the base is designed to create a sturdy level onto which the deck boards are screwed.

The completed garden

This is the finished garden.  We built a small storage box using deck boards at the bottom of the raised seating area. The mixture of paving, decking, render and brick risers create more interest on the eye.

Another View

This image shows the garden from the raised patio area, an ideal separation from the rest of the garden.
